Dr. Melissa Liddle is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the psychological care of children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities and chronic healthcare conditions. Her educational and clinical experiences over the last 14 years as a child life specialist and recreation therapist within both inpatient psychiatric and medical floors at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center have lent themselves well to her work now as a clinical psychologist.
Dr. Melissa Liddle has experience providing psychological evaluation and treatment for adolescents including those with developmental disabilities, specifically autism spectrum disorder, and those with chronic health conditions. Her care philosophy is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy and family-centered care principles. She emphasizes approaches that draw upon the strengths of both children and their caregivers. She specializes in improving symptoms of anxiety, depression, executive functioning or ADHD, daily living skills, relational concerns, as well as adjustment to a new diagnosis and adherence to medical regimens.
Dr. Liddle graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Recreation Therapy and a minor in Psychology. She went on to complete her graduate work at Xavier University where she earned her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in the psychological care of children and adolescents as well as those with health concerns. She completed her internship/residency at the University of Miami’s Mailman Center for Child Development in the Miller School of Medicine located in Miami, Florida as well as a fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology, where she specialized in adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.
Dr. Melissa Liddle is a member of American Psychological Association, Division 54 Society of Pediatric Psychology, and the Division 53 Society of Child and Child and Adolescent Psychology. She is also a member of the Association of Child Life Professionals and American Therapeutic Recreation Association. Dr. Liddle grew up in southwestern Indiana, but has called Cincinnati home for over 15 years. She enjoys spending her free time immersed in nature, traveling to new places, walking her dogs, and playing tennis.
